Ill-fated Columbia signed crew photo
The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster occurred on February 1, 2003, when the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Palestine, Texas during re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere, with the loss of all seven crew members, shortly before it was scheduled to conclude its 28th mission, STS-107. Color 10 x 8 NASA photo of the crew of Shuttle Mission STS-107, signed in black felt tip by Rick Husband, Willie McCool, Michael Anderson, David Brown, ,and Ilan Ramon. In very fine condition. Also included are two additional signed mission 8×10 color photographs, signed, respectively,by Kalpana Chawla and by Laurel Blair Clark. All in excellent condition.Items signed by all seven Columbia astronauts, particularly those with a direct association to their tragic mission, are of great scarcity.
Also included items: the Houston Chronicle “Extra” section dated February 1, 2003; a program to the STS-107 Memorial held at the Johnson Space Center on February 4, 2003; a thick paper ninety-six page magazine titled “Columbia/ February 1, 2003”; and the February 2003 issue of NASA Space Center Roundup titled “Remembering… STS-107.” All excellent.
