IMMENSELY RARE DENIM JACKET SIGNED BY NIRVANA IN BERLIN IN 1991
This rare and unusual jacket (Apanage label, size L.) was signed for the original recipient who attended the Nirvana concert on November 10, 1991 in Berlin at the “Loft.” The recipient was able to go backstage to meet each member of the band, who signed a number of items for her, including this denim jacket. Kurt Cobain wrote “Nirvana” on this item.
This extraordinary denim jacket is boldly signed in black felt tip on the front by iconic Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, “Kurdt”; bassist, Krist Novoselic, “Krist”; and drummer, Dave Grohl “Dave”. Immensely rare and sought-after, this impressive grunge rock relic dates to shortly after the release of Nirvana’s first studio album, Nevermind.
“Smells Like Teen Spirit”, quickly gained momentum, boosted by major airplay of the music video on MTV. As it toured Europe during late 1991 (Where this jacket was signed), the band found that its shows were dangerously oversold, that television crews were becoming a constant presence onstage, and that “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was almost omnipresent on radio and music television.
