KAHLIL GIBRAN SIGNS A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE EDITION OF HIS WORLD RENOWN WORK, ‘THE PROPHET’
The Prophet. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1926. An early deluxe edition (first published by Knopf in 1923), this copy is incredibly signed by Gibran and dated 1926. Bound in decorated covers, different from the trade edition, this has gold patterned paper covered boards over vellum spine with gilt titles. The front cover has the titles in orange with Gibran’s “Life is Flame” in orange on the cover. Frontispiece by Gibran. 10 x 7 1/2 inches (24.5 x 19 cm); [8], 84, 2 pp.uncommonly fine condition for this delicate edition, and internally fresh.
