A PERFECT EDITION OF ‘THIS SIDE OF PARADISE’ SIGNED BY F. SCOTT FITZGERALD
A superb copy of the May 1920 3rd printing of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s first published novel, a great triumph out of the gates recounting his student days at Princeton. This, the signed/limited” edition, includes the tipped-in “Author’s Apology” page, purportedly limited to 500 copies, each of which includes Fitzgerald’s genuine ink signature (“Sincerely, F. Scott Fitzgerald”) at the foot of the page. The signature in this case is strong and firm and eminently legible. The book has been rebound in a lavish, more recent full-dark green morocco by Asprey of London. 5 raised bands, brilliant gilt-titling and tooling within the compartments. Lovely decorative gilt-bordering along the panels, silk pastedowns, all edges gilt, elegant floral design to the front panel. A handsome, fitting binding to Fitzgerald’s only signed/limited and his smashing literary debut.
