RARE ALEXANDER HAMILTON SIGNED DOCUMENT FROM HIS LEGAL CAREER

HAMILTON, ALEXANDER. Document Signed, “Alexandr Hamilton / for Plaintiffs,” with three additional lines in holograph. This is a very rare document from Hamilton’s legal career in New York consisting of a judgment of the Supreme Court of New York in the case of LeRoy & Bayard v. Shaw. The holograph lines, dollar amounts relating to damages to be awarded or value of property under discussion. Additionally signed by Richard Harrison, attorney for the defendant. 2 1/4 pages, folio. This document boasts a bold Hamilton signature and displays beautifully with short closed separations repaired with cello tape in several places throughout, signature and holograph lines indicated by red pencil arrows, docketing on terminal page. [New York], 21 January 1797.
