THE JACKSON 5 SIGN A CONTRACT TO RECEIVE SONGWRITER ROYALTIES

This historic standard songwriters contract, dated August 1, 1978, is between Peacock Music Publishing Company and Jackson 5 brothers, Steven R. Jackson, Michael Joe Jackson, Marlon D. Jackson, Tariano A. Jackson, and Sigmund E. Jackson for the song “Things I Do For You.” The contract grants each member of the group a 20% share of the royalties for the song and is signed on the second page by each member of the band, including Michael Jackson, in blue and black ink. All signatures are dark, clear and bold and their rarity is further enhanced by the fact that they signed their full legal names. Song publishing agreements signed by the entire group seldom come to market.
