Bound in fine full red morocco in the style of the original cloth, gilt Alice and pig to front cover and the Cheshire cat to rear cover, covers ruled in gilt, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt and pink endpapers,original cloth covers and spine bound in the rear. Tissue guard to frontispiece present and still in surprisingly good condition. Illustrated by John Tenniel. All edges gilt. Bound in deep red leather by SANGORSKY AND SUTCLIFFE, LONDON, with red leather top entry box by Zucker of Philadelphia. Internally clean and bright,With an autograph letter signed by Carroll bound in after the second end page on Christ Church stationary as follows, “Dear Miss Lymonds,”Isa” Bowman will return with me to Oxford on Wednsday evening, and will avail myself of your great kindness, by bringing her to you that night. We shall most likely leave London at 6 1/2, reaching Oxford at 8-10 and your house by 8 1/2 .
